Works on the reconstruction project of the water communal infrastructure of Adamićeva Street are approaching the final stage. The main sewerage collector is completely completed, while the water supply network is 98% completed. Also, works on sanitary connections are progressing and are currently at 81%. Below is a detailed overview of the remaining works.

Work on the section from Index to the ZG-RI railroad was completed by asphalting the sidewalk, and all connections to the water supply and sewage system were also completed. All that remains is the arrangement of the green belt when the appropriate conditions for planting are obtained.

On the section from the ZG-RI railway line to the bus station, asphalting of the bearing layer of asphalt was completed, and a new water supply system was installed that will serve the needs of the new Žabica bus station.

Between the bus station and Jadranski trg – Trpimirova Street, the works on the household sewage connections and the transport water supply system were completed, drains with appropriate drain connections were installed, and the construction of the junction of the newly installed water supply system remained.

On the section from Jadranski trg to Splitska Street, after the approval of the traffic solution, work continued on the RODA storm drain.

In the section from Splitska Street to Trg128 brigade (McDonald’s), the mixed sewage collector was reconstructed. It remains to install the inspection window, make the necessary connections and repair the electrical installations according to the instructions of HEP, HT and Rijeka plus..

On the section from Trg 128. brigade to Henckeova Street (Zara), in very complex conditions, the connections to the storm drainage were completed, while the sanitary collector was connected at the junction of Henckeova Street and Riva Street. At the same location, work is underway on another customer’s gas pipeline.

Between Zara and Uljarska Street (Swarovski) a rainwater collector was installed, and sanitary house connections were successfully connected. What remains is the installation of the downspout with connections to the new collector, repairs for the HEP, the necessary tests and the connection of gas and secondary water installations.

On the section from Swarovski to Scarpa Street, it is planned to install an inspection shaft and reconstruct the drainage in front of the Modello Palace.

In Scarpa Street, all the work on the installation of the designed installations has been completed, including transport and secondary water supply, secondary sanitary house connections, storm drainage, testing of the structural stability and functionality of the sewage system, and initial flushing and pressure tests of the water supply system. Pavement concreting has been announced for Wednesday, November 13th, 2024.

A reinforced concrete slab is being installed on the entire section of the project, which aims to protect the installation and prevent the deterioration of the asphalt layer, and is carried out as part of the Croatian Roads investment.

On Henckeova Street, the water supply branch in front of the Orthodox Church was completed. Finishing work on the shaft and checking of installations, as well as the complete connection of the gas pipeline in Ivana Zajca Street (near Spar) and the connection of the water supply remain.

On the section from Matija Gubec to Ribarska Street, it remains to lay the installations for the needs of the NUS (surveillance and management system).

Works of KD VODOVOD I KANALIZACIJA d.o.o. take place as part of the large EU project “Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration” and play a key role in improving the drainage system of the City of Rijeka. The special importance of these works lies in the construction of the main collector in Adamićeva Street, which will be connected to the already completed collector in Krešimirova Street. With this solution, waste water from the western part of the city will be efficiently directed to the new waste water treatment plant (UPOV) on the Delta, which will significantly improve environmental protection and quality of life.

With the completion of this project, Rijeka will get an infrastructure network that will serve the needs of citizens in the long term, reduce problems with drainage, floods and dilapidated installations
