EUPAR – EUROPSKI PROJEKT AGLOMERACIJA RIJEKA
The “Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration” project is one of the largest investments in utility infrastructure in the Republic of Croatia. It is implemented with the aim of increasing the connection to the public sewage system, optimising and improving the functioning of the existing public sewage system and increasing the quality of water supply in the area of works. The total value of the project is 233,799,649.88 EUR (excluding VAT), of which 71.33 percent is co-financed by the European Union.
The “Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration” project provides for the expansion and optimisation of the public sewage system with the construction of the new wastewater treatment plant. It includes the contracts for the following works:
Works on the reconstruction project of the water communal infrastructure of Adamićeva Street are approaching the final stage. The main sewerage collector is completely completed, while the water supply network is 98% completed. Also, works on sanitary connections are progressing and are currently at 81%. Below is a detailed overview of the remaining works.
In Zvonimirova Street, in the zone of the ZTC, the works on the installation of water and utility infrastructure on the section of phase 2a, which included the intersection of Zvonimirova Street, Ivan Matetić Ronjgov Street and Mirko Čurbeg Street, and the exit from the ZTC towards the city center, were completed. The section was opened to traffic, and the traffic lights were returned to normal mode of operation, which made traffic in this area easier.
Starting next week, in the area of Školjić and Kozala, work will begin on the construction of the extension of the “Grobnik” fecal collector to the location of the new waste water treatment plant (UPOV) on the Delta, as part of the EU project “Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration”.
On Friday, April 5, 2024, as part of the EU project “Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration“, the contractor GODINA GRADBENIŠTVO IN DRUGE STORTIVE d.o.o. announced the beginning of the first phase of works on the construction of transport sewage collectors and the reconstruction of the water supply from the intersection od Zametska and Zvonimirova Streets to the turn for the shopping center (ZTC) in Zvonimirova Street.
On Friday, February 16, 2024. new works are starting in Juraši Street, from house no. 36 to house no. 44. Works are related on construction of a transport collector for the collection and drainage of waste water within the scope of work group E “Viškovo Extension”, subsystem E5-2 MARINIĆI SETTLEMENT 3-4-5.
Due to the construction works on the reconstruction and expansion of the sewage system in Adamićeva Street, specifically from the connection to the existing collector at Jadranski Trg to the exit into Ribarska Street, Adamićeva Street will be closed for all the traffic. Traffic through the city center will be redirected to the two-way flow on Riva Street.
On Monday, January 8, 2024, in the Martinšćica area, work will begin on the sewer collector and pressure pipeline as part of the 233,799,649.88 EUR worth EU project “Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration”, 71.33% of which is co-financed by grants from the European Union.
On January 10, 2024, as part of the EU project “Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration”, work group E “Construction of the drainage system – Viškovo Expansion”, works will begin in the part of Straža street (house no. 44-51b) and the part of Baretićevo street (house no. 43-56).
On Monday, November 27, 2023, in the area of the Brašćine-Pulac Local Board, the first works on the construction of water and communal infrastructure will begin as part of the EU project – Rijeka Agglomeration. Works will be performed on subsystem C.0.6. Banderovo-Brašćine-Pulac-Trsat (building I:Pulac I) in Pulac street from house no. 51/1 to house no. 54/C.
The expected duration of the works is until the end of January 2024, and upon completion of construction, citizens will have access to a safer and cleaner drainage and water supply system, which will increase the quality of life in the community, contribute to the protection of human health and the preservation of the environment.
As part of construction works of the first phase on the reconstruction and extension of the drainage system of Adamićeva street, from November 19 to the beginning of the second phase and the complete closure of Adamićeva Street, temporary traffic regulation will be established on the northern side of the road in the zone of Jadranski trg.
On Monday, October 9, 2023, work began on asphalting the section from the church to the rotor in Škurinje. The works include laying the final layer of asphalt and restoring the vertical and horizontal traffic signals to their original condition. During the aforementioned works, occasional interruptions and traffic slowdowns are possible, so we ask all road users for extra caution and patience.
Due to the works on the reconstruction and extension of the wastewater drainage system in Krešimirova Street from September 30, 2023 to October 13, 2023, a temporary regulation of pedestrian traffic, i.e. a ban on pedestrian traffic on the northern sidewalk of Krešimirova Street, will be established.
Tuesday, September 26, 2023.- the first works began on the construction of drainage and water supply and the new rotor in Dukićeva Street, near the new Hospital for Women and Children. The investors of the construction works are „KD Vodovod i kanalizacija“ and the City of Rijeka, and the contractor is the company „Izgradnja d.o.o.“ from Crikvenica.
On Thursday, September 21, 2023, as part of the EU project “Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration”, work will begin on the optimization and construction of water and communal infrastructure at the junction of Liburnijska Street and Jože Vlahovića Street near street no. 16.
On Monday, September 4, 2023. works will commence on the optimization and construction of water communal infrastructure at the intersection of Nova cesta – Lozičina cesta, as part of the 233,799,649.88 EUR project ” Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration “, which is 71.33% co-financed by non-refundable EU funds.
On Monday, September 4, 2023, preparatory work will begin on the construction of water and communal infrastructure in Spinčići, from house number 163A to 164D, as part of the EU project “Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration”, work group D “Construction of the drainage system – Kastav Expansion”, which is co-financed in the amount of 71.33% with non-refundable EU funds.
The mentioned works are carried out as part of subsystem C.0.3 KANTRIDA – ZAMET, where the construction of the sewage system and the reconstruction of the public water supply system is planned, which will significantly improve the communal and living standards of residents in this area, as well as the protection of human health and the preservation of the environment.
We inform the residents in the area of the work group C – Rijeka Expansion, that starting from July 11, 2023 every working day from 7:20 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., there will be an inspection of buildings and residential houses in order to define the positions of house connections. It is about subsystem C.3.1. Pletenci Hosti Rujevica, Zone H-1.
As part of the reconstruction of the state road DC 8, on Saturday, July 8, 2023, construction works of the first phase on the reconstruction and extension of the drainage system of Adamićeva Street will begin. These are construction works from the connection to the constructed collector in Krešimirova street, next to the Indeks restaurant, to the exit on Žabica.
On the eve of the start of works on the construction of the water and utility infrastructure of the EU project – Rijeka Agglomeration in the area of the town of Kastav, on Thursday, May 25, 2023, in the premises of KD VODOVOD I KANALIZACIJA d.o.o. a working meeting was held on Delta for the purpose of informing representatives of the city administration about the planned construction works and establishing cooperation on the way of informing users of public water supply and drainage services in that area.
On Wednesday, May 24 and Thursday, May 25, 2023, the start of construction works was announced in the streets Obitelji Sušanj and Minakov put as part of the EU project ” Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration”, work group C “Construction of the drainage system – Expansion of Rijeka”.
Ahead of the start of works on the construction of the water and communal infrastructure of the EU project – Rijeka Agglomeration, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, a working meeting was held with representatives of the Srdoča Local Board in the premises of KD VODOVOD I KANALIZACIJA with the aim of efficient coordination in informing citizens about the planned construction works.
The works on the Viškovo rotor included the laying of water supply and sewage installations financed by KD ViK d.o.o., the construction of a roundabout and the laying of a new asphalt layer financed by the County Road Administration of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and the laying of other installations and landscaping financed by the Municipality of Viškovo.
On Monday, March 27, 2023. within the framework of the EU project “Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration”, construction works begins on group C of construction works “Construction of the drainage system – Expansion of Rijeka”, subsystem C.2. Drenova, on the green section along Bok Street.
Due to encountering existing underground installations that were not recorded and specified in the main project, and the impossibility of accessing part of the construction site at the location of the former industrial complex Rikard Benčić due to the completion of the works by another contractor, „Zajednica bidderelja Godina d.o.o.“ and „Inkaing d.o.o.“ the deadline for the completion of works on the subsystem A4 “Railway Station” is extended.
With a 29-day extension granted, the new deadline for completion is November 24, 2022.
On Wednesday, September 14, 2022, in the complex of the Command Center and the Zvir pumping station, the construction of transport collectors and optimization of the existing Rijeka Istok drainage system was contracted as part of the EU project “Improving water and communal infrastructure in the area of the Rijeka agglomeration”.
Rijeka, August 26, 2022- two new contracts were signed for the construction of the public drainage system for groups of works C and D as part of the EU project “Improvement of water and communal infrastructure in the area of the Rijeka agglomeration”: Construction of the drainage system – Extension of Rijeka and Construction of the drainage system – Extension of Kastav. The value of the contracted works is more than HRK 447 million (without VAT).
On August 23, 2022, construction works will begin on a sanitary collector in Cambierijeva and Zdenko Petranovića streets with the aim of improving the existing system of public drainage and wastewater treatment. During construction, there will be a temporary parking ban on Cambiereva Street in the length from the entrance from Krešimirova Street to Trg kralja Tomislava Street, and in Zdenko Petranovića Street from the entrance from Viktora Cara Emina Street in the length of 40 meters.
As part of the EU project – Rijeka Agglomeration, construction work will begin on the Rikard Benčić storm drain on the northern part of the former industrial complex of the same name, on Friday, May 20, 2022. The construction works will relieve the mixed drainage system, and they will be carried out by the tenderer association GODINA d.o.o. and INKAING d.o.o. with a deadline of September 30, 2022.
Rijeka, 7 April 2022 – The new stage of operations in the “Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration” project co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund has been announced. The set of works entitled “Viškovo Expansion” will include the construction of a waste water drainage system and water supply system in the area of Viškovo Municipality (the settlement of Marinići) and the City of Rijeka.
To mark the 29th World Water Day on Monday 21 March 2022, the director of the utility company Vodovod i kanalizacija d.o.o., Mr Andrej Marochini, and the mayor of Rijeka, Mr Marko Filipović, officially opened the exhibition at the main promenade Korzo entitled “The Importance of Preserving Water Resources for the Future: Project “Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration”.
Rijeka, 28 December 2021 – A contract on the construction of a wastewater treatment plant at the Delta location was signed at the Ceremonial Hall of the Sugar Refinery Palace, as part of the HRK 1.76 billion project “Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration” co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund.
