About the project
The “Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration” project is one of the largest investments in utility infrastructure in the Republic of Croatia. It is implemented with the aim of increasing the connection to the public sewage system, optimising and improving the functioning of the existing public sewage system and increasing the quality of water supply in the area of works. The total value of the project is 233,799,649.88 EUR (excluding VAT), of which 71.33 percent is co-financed by the European Union.
Contracts
The “Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration” project provides for the expansion and optimisation of the public sewage system with the construction of the new wastewater treatment plant. It includes the contracts for the following works:

News
On Friday and Saturday, 17 and 18 October 2025, as part of the Rijeka Agglomeration Project – LOT B, Rijeka East, final asphalt works will be carried out on Mihanovićeva Street and Braće Horvatića Street, along with sidewalk paving works on Drage Šćitara Street.
On Thursday, October 16, 2025, as part of the Rijeka Agglomeration Project – LOT D, Kastav Expansion, construction works will begin on Section 0, along the county road ŽC 5019.
The works will be carried out from Spinčići 46 (starting point) to Spinčići 120, in the east–west direction.
From October 16, 2025, as part of the Rijeka Agglomeration Project – LOT D, Kastav Expansion (permit D6-1.3.1), construction works on sewer collectors K2.1 and K2.1.1 in the Settlement of Spinčići, from Spinčići 75A to Spinčići 71, will begin.
On Monday, September 8, 2025, works will begin on Kablarska cesta Street (collector K-2.1) – Gornja Drenova, on a section 180 m long, from the intersection with Brune Francetića Street east to Kablarska cesta 22.
On Monday, September 8, 2025, construction of the sewage collector and replacement of the existing water supply system will begin.
The works will be carried out in phases, and relate to work group C – subsystem C.3.1.2.
From Thursday, August 21, 2025, works will begin on subsystem C.3.1.1 Pletenci – Hosti – Rujevica, Zone H-3 (Pletenci Street 4 – 4/3).
The traffic ban will be in effect from August 15, 2025 at 09:00 to August 17, 2025 at 20:00, and applies to the section from house number 37 (Dimnjačar d.o.o.) to house number 29 (Caffe Bar Skradin).
It refers to the group of works C: Rijeka Expansion, subsystem C.1.1. Gornja Drenova.
As part of the works on the extension of the sanitary drainage system (Phase II), cleaning of drains and manholes is being carried out along the entire route of Adamićeva Street and at the approaches where work was previously carried out, all in order to maintain the functionality of the drainage system.
On Thursday, July 23, 2025, work will begin on the sanitary collector FK -3.19. and FK 3.19.1, in the section of Mladenići street, no. 3 – 11 (Mladenići – Viškovo).
The project section includes Corrado Ilijassich Street and Osječka Street.
