Construction works are being carried out as part of the third and fourth phases of the realization of the Railway Station Subsystem, which, in addition to the construction of the Rikard Benčić storm drain, also includes the laying of transport collectors and the construction of the Railway Station pumping station. The construction works are part of the EU project – Rijeka Agglomeration, which is financed with grants from the European Union in the amount of HRK 1.25 billion.
