Preparatory works, which include the installation of a temporary water supply pipeline (bypass), it´s flushing and disinfection, will be carried out without excavation and changes in traffic regulation, and the first construction works are expected to begin on September 15.
The works are carried out as part of subsystem D6-1.3.1 SANITARY SEWAGE, CS TOMETIĆI 1., CS TOMETIĆI 2. AND WATER SUPPLY BRANCHES OF PART OF ZONE SPINČIĆI, BELIĆI, TOMETIĆI (ZONE 3), and include the construction of 4,284 m of sewage gravity collectors, 217 m sewage pressure lines, 2 sewage pumping stations and 1,792 m of water pipelines.
By constructing new sanitary sewer collectors and reconstructing and constructing water supply pipelines in the area of the city of Kastav, European standards for managing municipal wastewater will be ensured. This will contribute to the protection of rich underground water sources, environmental preservation, and the conservation of water and water-dependent ecosystems.
Let us recall that the entire work group D includes the construction of a sewage system in the city of Kastav (historic centre of old town of Kastav, Spinčići, Brnini, Belići, Tometići, Donji Rubeši, Donji Čikovići, Brestovice, Tuhtani) and the city of Rijeka (Srdoči, Martinkovac). At the same time, the reconstruction of the public water supply system in certain sections will be carried out. Parallel with the Project, the construction of the water supply system in part of the streets without public water supply in the city of Rijeka and the city of Kastav is also planned, which will be financed from local funds.
The value of the contracted works is 23.242.822,05 EUR, the contractor is GP KRK d.o.o., while the provider of the supervision service is a group of providers comprising INSTITUT IGH d.d., EPTISA ADRIA d.o.o., FLUM-ING d.o.o. and PROJEKT d.d. Nova Gorica.
The contractor has delivered informational leaflets to the citizens in the streets directly affected by the works through mailboxes. Users will be promptly informed about any changes in the work schedule to stay updated on the project’s progress and plan their activities accordingly.
