The presentation of the project „Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration“ was held at the premises of the Srdoči local Council to inform the local community, citizens, and the general public about the activities of the EUPAR project in the Rijeka agglomeration area. The presentation was attended by members of the Srdoči Local Council, representatives of KD ViK, contractors, officials from the City of Rijeka, as well as interested citizens..
As part of the presentation, the locals had the opportunity to learn about the planned works in the streets of Josip Voltić, Ivo Vojnović, Dinko Šimunović, Furinac, Jurjo Dobrila and Andrije Mohorovičić. The goal of this presentation was to inform the locals about the dynamics of the planned works and proposed traffic solutions, in order to meet the needs and demands of the local community to the greatest extent possible. On behalf of KD VODOVOD i KANALIZACIJA, Alen Miličević, the project implementation coordinator, informed the attendees about the project, the progress of the works, and the plans in the Rijeka Agglomeration area .
The expansion of the public sewer system in Srdoči and Martinkovac plans to construct 290 new household sewer connections. By including these facilities in the modernized sewage and water supply system, Srdoči will gain a reliable infrastructure that will stimulate local development and enable further investments in residential and commercial space.
To recap, „Improvement of the water communal infrastructure – Rijeka Agglomeration“ project includes the construction of a second-stage wastewater treatment plant in Rijeka at the Delta location, as well as the construction and reconstruction of approximately 217 kilometers of sewar lines and 125 pumping stations. In addition, works will be carried out in approximately 100 kilometers of public water supply in two cities – Rijeka and Kastav, and three municipalities – Viškovo, Čavle and Jelenje, which make up the Rijeka agglomeration area.
Their completion will increase the population`s connection to the wastewater sewer system, optimize and improve the functioning of the existing public sewage system, and increase the quality of water supply.
