Due to the width of the street, during the works it will not be possible to traffic on the said street, and therefore a temporary traffic regime will be introduced on Matka Mandića Street – TWO-WAY.
In order to make this possible, 20.11.2024. work will be carried out to re-regulate traffic in the streets Stari put and Matka Mandića, therefore it is necessary to follow the instructions of the contractor.
In order to re-regulate traffic, on the same day, on the route from the fire station to Fortica, parking spaces along the street will be abolished. Owners are asked not to park their vehicles at that location from the specified day.
On 21.11.2024. Stari put street will be partially closed to vehicle traffic and all traffic will be transferred to Matka Mandića street.
In order to perform works in the old center, the City of Kastav made two decisions in order to facilitate traffic in the city center during the works. Both decisions take effect on Wednesday, November 20.
The first decision concerns the bringing of children to the kindergarten, Mavrica building, and the second concerns the temporary formation of a new parking area on Fortica square.
Until the completion of the works, for the purpose of bringing children to the Kindergarten Vladimir Nazor, Mavrica building at Školska street 6 and 8, parking is allowed for a maximum of 15 minutes on Trg Matka Laginje on weekdays from 06:30 to 08:30.
Likewise, until the completion of the works, parking is temporarily allowed on the Fortica square where, according to estimates, about 15 cars will be able to park. Given that it is not a matter of marked parking spaces, we ask drivers to comply with the provisions of the Decision on traffic regulation in the area of the City of Kastav, the Law on Road Traffic Safety and other relevant regulations.
The expected duration of the works in Stari put street is until the end of April 2025.
As each phase of the works will be completed, and if there is a possibility, certain parts of the street will open earlier, and it will be regulated by traffic signals.
It is important to note that during the works, waste disposal for the residents of the old core will be organized at Fortica instead of at the parking lot under “Gitara”. Containers on Fortica will work according to the same principle as those under the “Gitare”.
